Life is about more than work, but it pays the bills and I’ve also built up some great friendships and connections over the last 30+ years.

Things I enjoy:

CRM and data.  Yes – I’m that odd bod that thinks it’s great.  The system used is almost irrelevant, but I’ve worked with a lot of different ones.  Law firms being somewhat lemming-like – InterAction is the biggie, but I’ve seen pros and cons of all sorts and I love trying to unravel information and bringing it to life.  Power BI is like the Mary Berry recipe book of data.  I’m not an expert, but then most art critics can’t draw can they?  I know what it does, how it can blend the right informaiton and  get it right, you make magic!

I don’t even mind a bit of data entry.  I trained the hard way.  Lots of form filling. Fast typing and an eye or detail.  Now I’m at home. I can do that if you need something doing well and you’ve not delegated it to a bot, I can likely give you a hand.

Client Listening. No point in doing what you think a client or prospect wants from you.  Client listening is the route to good Business Development delivery. Without out, you’re just guessing.

Let’s think WWMBD – yes, what would Mary Berry Do?  She wouldn’t serve everyone the same thing.  Not how it works.  You find what cake someone likes and you bake that, you might use roughly the same ingredients, but you mix it up.  Not everyone’s a Victoria Sponge!*

Complexities of working in law firms.  I must like it.  I kept coming back to it.  I’ve worked in lots of different sizes and shapes of law firms.  Fundamentally, they work pretty much the same so the problems come round and round.

*I also love an analogy, but I can’t keep making all these references to Mary and not give you a link so:
